In 2018, I made a bold decision to leave my full-time job and establish ACE Consortium,
marking the beginning of my journey as an entrepreneur. Although I had always harbored
a deep desire to start my own business, I never truly believed it could become a reality
until I reached a point where I knew I had to take the leap. Having worked in the fashion
industry for several years, I had always been captivated by the world of fashion. However,
it was my father’s profound appreciation for leather products that truly ignited my passion.

Faced with the daunting task ahead, I meticulously designed our inaugural collection of
products and commenced selling them online, thus giving birth to the West & Brown
brand. The name “West” not only pays homage to the geographical location of our base in
South Africa but also evokes the spirit of the cowboy era, which has long been associated
with the production of leather goods. On the other hand, “Brown” serves as a direct link to
my heritage as a colored South African woman, adding a personal touch to our brand
identity.

Since then, we have witnessed tremendous growth and evolution in our product range.
We have discovered our unique style and have consistently crafted exquisite products that
are accessible to a wide range of customers. It is worth noting that all the raw materials we
use for our products are sourced locally within South Africa, reflecting our commitment to
supporting local industries and promoting sustainability.
